Volunteer

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Mark 10:45

At Ground Zero Church, we don't believe in sitting idly by and watching a world in need go without the help it so greatly needs. We endeavor to create communities of support around our neighbors - to meet them where they are - and to bring the love of Jesus in a real and tangible way.  From serving meals at the local Salvation Army, providing supplies and resources to the homeless in our community, bringing church to residential areas, providing transportation, helping families in need, to praying and supporting those who are in prison - we want to be the hands and feet for Jesus.

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

There are many ways to volunteer at Ground Zero. We have an active, mobile church ministry that requires a large team each week to set up, hold services, and then pack up equipment. On any given Sunday, we need help with greeting, making food for the post-service fellowship meal, setting up and tearing down equipment, and more. Please let us know how you would like to volunteer by completing the form below.

How do I volunteer with kids?

Volunteers who work with our youth must be 18 years of age or older and willing to submit to a background check prior to service. Volunteers work on a rotating schedule at our primary service located at 10AM at Jackson-Via Elementary school.  For more information, complete the form below, or speak with Meghan after a service.

How do I volunteer with music?

Want to share your gifts and talents for singing or playing instruments?  We are looking for individuals with a heart to worship the Lord who can serve on a rotation at multiple campuses: Jackson-Via Elementary, Crescent Halls, Charlottesville-Albemarle Jail, special events and more. Please let our worship leader, Kelly, know that you are interested, or fill out the form below.

How do I volunteer with students?

The Ground Zero youth group is growing and active in our community! We are looking for volunteers to help lead lessons on the 2nd and 4th Sunday each month, as well as chaperones for our ministry outreach. For more information, complete the form below, or speak with Noah and Laci after a service.
