Our Story

How it all started...

In the year 2020, Pastor Kent felt that the Lord was calling him to plant a church in the heart of Charlottesville. At that time, Kent was leading a discipleship group of 12 young men that met outside in local parks every Saturday at 7:00am in the morning. In early 2021, Kent decided that it was time to embrace the call of God upon his life to plant Ground Zero Church. The discipleship group of young men became his church planting team. We began meeting outside in the amphitheater located in Tonsler Park the Summer of 2021. Shortly after, we moved the church indoors and began to meet at Jackson-Via Elementary School and our congregation locations continue to grow. We now meet online, at Crescent Halls, and are in the process of a new church plant at our local regional jail. At Ground Zero, we remain committed to being a debt-free, mobile church so we can bring the Gospel to as many as we can

Expanding the vision...

We bring the Church to the people!

We know coming to church can be a struggle for some who lack transportation or the means to attend the morning service. So, we launched a second service. If you are unable to join us at Jackson-Via Elementary on Sunday mornings, you can come to our service at Crescent Halls.

Need a ride to church? Yep, we can do that, too!
